    Why FileAlloy

    Nothing is uploaded

The split happens locally in your browser. Your document never touches a server.

    No signup, no watermark

Free and unlimited, with no account and no watermark on the extracted file.

    Exact pages, same quality

Selected pages are copied intact, so text stays selectable and images stay sharp.

    Ready as an API

The same split is a single REST call, so you can automate it across thousands of files.

Do it at scale with the API

    Frequently asked questions

How do I choose which pages to keep?

Type a 1-indexed spec such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. You can mix ranges and single pages separated by commas.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The browser tool extracts pages locally on your device, so nothing is uploaded or stored. The API processes files in memory and deletes them immediately after the response.

Can I split one PDF into several files?

Each run extracts one set of pages into a new file. Run it again with a different page spec to produce the other parts.

    Is there a page limit?

No fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory, since the work happens locally.

    Can I split PDFs programmatically?

Yes. Call the /v1/split endpoint with your API key and a pages spec to extract pages from your own code.

    Does it work on mobile?

Yes. It runs in any modern browser with nothing to install.
